'RED DRESS' - LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL

DIRECTION

REDDRESS is an installation and performance space in the form of a colossal, red fabric dress. Created by Finnish Designers Aamu Song and Johan Olin, REDDRESS aims to question the roles we play as audience or performer, as well as elevating the experiential boundaries of this shifting relationship.

RED DRESS is part of the Helsinki Design Museum permanent collection and has been installed in many different interior and exterior environments, . This London installation was perhaps the most ambitious to date, transforming historic York Hall in the East of the city from its regular life as a boxing gym into a complete 'red environment' with performances by Finnish musical artists Emma Salokoski and Jarmo Saari.

This film serves as a visual audit for the building of the this uniquely stunning project - one of the stand out events of London Design Week 2011.

Film Commissioned by the Finnish Institute in London.
